Puppies at Edana

We are in the planning stages of our first litter of Brittanys.  Bliss has excelled in the conformation ring as well as in the field.  Currently we have a particular boy in mind that would not only compliment Bliss' virtues but also improve on her short comings.  For more information please drop a line and let us know ou may be interested.  Once her hips are done we will be posting the stud info.  Stay tuned for our late 2010 litter!!

We have an outstanding litter born December 4, 2009.  Below is the pedigree, we are hoping for stable temperments, they have beautiful color/markings and conformation.  Both parents show natural ability in stock.  The C.O.I. 11.45% for this litter. We have two puppies available from this wonderful cross, to see our wonderful babies please CLICK HERE

Visiting Edana:

If you can come to our kennel you are cordially invited to see our dogs and puppies (by appointment only please, that way you don't miss us). We ask that if you are planning to visit more than one kennel on the same day, that you visit us first. No one that has been to another kennel on the same day will be allowed to see our puppies for safety sake, unless you take a "bleach" bath first.
Although we will always keep in mind the colour preference of our puppy buyers we DO NOT place our pups in homes based solely on colour choice. We evaluate the pups from day 1 and puppies are placed based on a wide variety of things including temperament, natural instinct, and suitability. Our first consideration is the safety and well-being of our puppies, from the day they are conceived until the day they pass on.

Puppy Buyer Requirements:

? We ask that our buyers do their research on the Australian Shepherd breed. This breed of dog is not for everyone. They are active and inquisitive. they require lots of human interaction and do not do well when left alone for long periods of time. They WILL find ways to get your attention and not always in a pleasurable manner. There are many web sites on the internet that offer excellent information on the breed. There are also serveral books available (check www.amazon.com)
? Buyers need a fenced yard that is secure and an area where your aussie can get adequate exercise.
? We encourage our buyers to invest the time to take your puppy to obedience classes. This helps ensure that your dog learns the rules of being a family member.
? We ask that our buyers keep in contact with us. We love updates on how our puppies have grown up. We encourge you to call us if you ever have questions about your dog or it's family history. This also helps us in our breeding program.

Age:

Our puppies are released on an individual basis depending on how they are doing, their litter size, when they start to eat on their own, and lastly how they react to their puppy shots. Generally, puppies go home between 9 to 12 weeks. This is only if the puppy is completely ready to go and the environment where the puppy is going is a safe and secure one. Occasionally we have an older puppy available due to someone changing their mind. These puppies usually have a better defined temperament and still adjust very well to new environments.

Vaccinations:

We believe in minimally vaccinating our dogs. Please visit Dr Jean Dodds Vaccination Schedule. The link will open a printable Document format for you. Our puppies are wormed prior to going home. We worm all puppies at 5, 7 and 9 weeks. This does not mean that our dogs are not vaccinated, this only means we believe in the nuturing qualities of mothers milk.

Health Guarantee:

We guarantee all puppies to be healthy when they leave our kennel. If you receive a puppy from us and an health problem develops within 48 hours, you must contact us regarding the problem. We cannot be responsible for veterinary costs. If your puppy should die within 7 days of leaving our kennel due to Parvo or Distemper (autopsy report required), we will replace it with a like quality puppy. Any puppy which dies due to a genetic defect within 12 months after purchase will be replaced free of charge (except shipping, health certificate and handling fee). This will be done if your veterinarian attributes death to a genetic deformity in an autopsy and sends the findings of the autopsy to us. The autopsy shall be at the owners expense. This is to assure not only ourselves but our puppy people that they are receiving an aussie that is in the best of health.

All parents of our puppies are in superb health. All our breeding dogs have their eyes cleared, free of eye defects, by a certified opthamologist (after the age of two). All puppies will have their eyes examined by a certified opthamologist prior to leaving our kennel. The Buyer will be given a copy of the original exam.

Shipping:

Personally, we would rather not ship our puppies. If at all possible we encourage buyers to come and pick up their pup. It is much easier to transport a pup as "baggage" .

If we have to ship a puppy we prefer to ship about 12 weeks of age. Something also to consider..........every case of air shipping causes some form of shipping stress. Generally there are just a few days of adjustment, possibly a mild case of sniffles, sometimes diarrhea. All puppies that are shipped are health certified prior to being shipped.

? Flights: We try for the best possible flight for each pup. Non stop flights are our first choice.
